Star Jump

Ready to play

Double-jump through forests, forgotten mines, and floating ruins in a colorful 2D platforming adventure.

A little about the game

One small leap, one grand adventure. Explore three worlds and fifteen handcrafted areas filled with collectible stars, alternate routes, and tricky enemies. Bounce on giant mushrooms, race across
collapsing bridges, and ride updrafts past drones and lasers. Checkpoints keep you moving, while saved best times and star records invite you back for another run. Take your time exploring or push for
a faster finish, with keyboard and touch controls available.

How to play

A good starting point if you enjoy learning a level by exploring it. Stars sit above and between platforms, so a straight run along the ground leaves much of the first area untouched. The game opens under the title Stellar Leap.

Your first game

  1. Start in Moonlit Gardens.

Choose Start adventure to enter the first of five areas in this world. The top bar keeps track of your hearts, collected stars and time.

  2. Practice the second jump.

Move toward a low platform, jump, then press jump again while airborne. Use that extra height to reach stars and that extra distance to cross gaps. Red mushrooms launch you upward.

  3. Watch for checkpoints.

The checkpoint counter sits below the play area. Explore the upper platforms as well as the ground, and use the pause button when you need to stop.

Controls

A / D or ← / →
Move left or right.
Space, then Space
Jump, then double jump in the air.
Esc
Pause the adventure.
R
Restart the area.

A useful starting pointTry a double jump on safe ground before the first gap. Waiting briefly between the two presses gives you more control over where the second jump carries you.

Before you play

Movement and jumping checked in desktop Chrome. The game also provides touch buttons; our play notes cover the keyboard controls. The in-game fullscreen button gives the platforming area more room.
