A little about the game

Meet APEX GP, a browser racing game built with Three.js. Pick your team and race against 11 rivals across two distinct circuits: the sunlit Golden Coast and the desert corners of Red Rock Raceway.

Master manual steering, brake before tight turns, and deploy ERS for extra speed. Choose your difficulty, switch between three cameras, and chase your personal best on each track.

Three laps. Twelve cars. Keyboard or touch controls. Just open your browser and hit the track.

How to play

Apex GP asks you to steer and brake for yourself, with automatic gears handling the shifting. The first useful lesson is where to slow down: holding the accelerator through every bend sends you away from the racing line.

Your first game

  1. Choose a circuit and Rookie difficulty.

    Pick Golden Coast or Red Rock Raceway, choose a team and start the race. Wait for the starting lights to finish before driving away. Each race has three laps and twelve cars.

  2. Brake before the corner.

    Use the straight to accelerate, slow down as the bend approaches, then steer through it. Try the different cameras to find the view that makes the next corner easiest to read.

  3. Use ERS on a clear stretch.

    Hold Shift for a burst of speed when you have room. ERS recharges when you are not using it, with faster recovery under braking. Reset the car if you get stuck off the track.

A useful starting pointSpend the first lap learning the bends before using boost aggressively. A clear view of the next turn matters more than an extra burst of speed on its approach.

Before you play

Solo race and keyboard controls checked in desktop Chrome. Touch controls are also offered by the game, but this check used a keyboard. The 3D race needs a browser with WebGL.
